The Brink of Insanity

My characters have become a total of sixteen screaming five year-olds running around at my feet. Of course, you then have to add the new ones involved in Henai's past which I haven't really set in stone as of yet and... can you sympathize for me here, yet? It's driving me insane, having all these characters trying to speak at once, each with a unique voice... I feel like ripping my hair out. No joke.

As for Henai's past... I think it's coming along great. She's a lot more brainy than I thought. I can hardly understand what she means in her journal entries. And I'm the one who actually wrote them.

Well, here's a snippet of her next entry, which will probably be in chapter three of A Dying Nation. I'll probably have Avery read it or something.

Date: 05.0-013.00

Place: Origine, Connaissance

I applied once again to the council this year. Perhaps something could actually change on this dust-infected planet were someone who was born after the Kaldean Riots come to a status of power. The minds of Atherton, Beauchamp, Wickham, and the rest have spent the last decades rotting away into their old age, rendering their judgment almost completely ineffectual. Supposedly, were someone with a young mind and new ideas to voice their own opinions and, heaven forbid, change something, I think those poor old men would die right there in their chairs.

They are far too stubborn in their ways, bent on being the odd one out –the last civilization to uphold the beliefs of pacifism. That, in itself, is one subject that leaves my mind at a standstill, one of the few things I cannot comprehend. We live in a time of war, yet while the numbers of our enemies rise, we sit here in our cowardice and settle everything with diplomacy.

Dr. Messier was more than happy to voice my own thoughts when he found me at the cliff side once more. It seems he is one of the few souls who can look past the white towers of our own society and towards the undaunted horizon and the many galaxies past our atmosphere. I am sure I would surely lose my sanity if not for his companionship, if it even has the caliber of being called such.

The Interstellar Academy, Montressor

So... this is some academy in the Netherlands. But, the building was fasinating to me. It's exactly how I picture the interstellar academy, save for some futuristic pipes and such on the roof and perhaps a fancy old black gate.

I thought it looked neat. Part of chapter three of a Dying Nation will take place at the Interstellar Academy from Jim's POV. Should be fun, no?

Pirate Ships...

These are pictures of the pirate ships in the Etherium. The ship that Napier and Avery sail on ( the Meteora) looks like this:

The Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon eManual states:

"Augmented with extra sails and weapons, the Pirate Barque is a moderately speedy ship and a much more formidable threat than its civilian counterpart. While not quite equivalent to modern frigates, the Pirate Barque can use its speed to get out of most any situation it can't handle."

A/N: The Meteora is equipped with a Grav Charge Launcher, broadside knives, and several lancers along with various illegial weapons.

This is what Silver's (new) ship, the Argentum looks like:

The Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon eManual states:

"Huge and with a daunting amount of weaponry on board, the Pirate Galleon is one of the most powerful warships to ever sail the Etherium. In addition to her massive broadsiding capability, the Pirate Galleon can also grapple other ships and unload a huge complement of sword-wielding boarders. The only downside to this monster is her very slow speed and vulnerability to Torpedoes and Mines, but her incredible durability allows her to survive long enough to pound her enemies into scrap."

A/N: The Argentum is equipped with a Laser Torpedo, broadside knives, and an Arcturian Fire Launcher.

Stars looking at a planet [Under the Stars Soundtrack]

Wow. Two posts in one week. I know, but I promised in my authors note for Chapter Two of A Dying Nation that I'd post some stuff today.

A cute little 'exercise' that put me in the mood to write. This is the 'soundtrack' for Under the Stars: (The number on the right is the chapter number as well)

1. Shadow of the Day -Linkin Park
2. Invincible -Skillet
3. Me Against the World -Simple Plan
4. Whatsername -Green Day
5. Field of Innocence -Evanescence
6. In the End -Linkin Park
7. I Hate Everything About You -Three Days Grace
8. On Fire -Switchfoot
9. What Have You Done -Within Temptation
10. Broken -Seether (feat. Amy Lee from Evanescence)
11. Godspeed -Anberlin
12. Sweet Sacrifice -Evanescence
13. Here We Are -Breaking Benjamin
14. Open Your Eyes -Snow Patrol

And, that's it. Personally, I thought that the only ones that fit perfectly were Sweet Sacrifice for number 12 (The lyrics are just scary as to how they fit) and then What Have You Done (I mean, it's perfect with all that betrayel and crap.)

^^ The one for A Dying Nation will be posted when I finish it. Probably in 2009. (I'm just kidding.)

(I hope.)

Colors of the Heart

Okay, so this isn't really about writing. But, I love to draw as well.

Blood Plus is (unfortunately) over. But that doesn't mean us faithful fans can't stop loving it.

My camera sucks beyond belief, but you get the general idea. Drawn with mechanical pencil, Faber-Castell artist pen, and red Pilot pen.

Still half asleep... -.-

Time: 15 Minutes before I have to head off to school.

Muse: Currently playing hide and go seek.

I have only one part to go on chapter two of A Dying Nation. Once I post, my readers won't hate me so much. And I won't either.  I think I need to read some books like Twilight to touch up on my... romance? Fluff? Whatever. I'm having a bit of trouble, seeing how the story jumps two years ahead from Jim and Sora being friends to... -.-  What would they call that in the 7th century? Courting or dating? Probably the first one. The word makes me laugh, though.

Sad to say I'm not a mature as I thought.

Well. That's about it. I'll probably come back tonight to rant off on something else.

Later.

Character List

For A Dying Nation I currently have 16 original characters. I am in over my head here, people. To clear my mind (And help me remember who all these guys are) I'll post a little list of those making their appearances in the chapters to come, along with a bit about who they are:

(In alphabetical order and last name first because I'm a little weird in the head)

Airswift, Cale (His last name's really Zorona, but he goes by Airswift in his races)
*Captain of the Omega, and one of the fastest solar-surfers on Montresser (Next to Ray Quandree). Brother of Christofer Zorona.

Avery, (I can't tell you his first name yet, it's a surprise)
*First mate on the Meteora, captained by Napier. Pirate.

Gaines, Jacob
*Jim's friend, Emily's fiancee

Goldsmith, Emily
*Sora's friend, Jacob's fiancee

Hastings, Israel
*One of the last Crocuta, descendant of Henai

Hays, Evelyn
*Avery's (secret) love interest, (mild) acquaintance of Sora

Thomas, Martin
*Procyon soldier, (mild) acquaintance of Jim

Napier, Lewis
*Captain of the Meteora, friend of Avery. Pirate.

Newton Charles
*Doctor and cook for the Meteora. Pirate.

Roland, Eric Cliff (For some reason, Sora decided to call him Cliff. It kinda stuck)
*Friend of Jim, student at the Interstellar Academy

Wycomb, Henai
*Friend of Nathaniel Flint. Crocutan Inventor.

Wynter, Henry
*Sora's father, and once former (now current) Pirate. First mate on the Bloody Mary.

Wynter, Jason
*Sora's younger brother. Real brainy. Likes to build things.

Wynter, Sora [Thompson]  (Her mother's last name was Thompson. Thus the last name in Under the Stars. Once on Montresser, she goes by Wynter)
*Jim's friend/love. Former (loosely used word, here) Pirate. Mechanic.

Zorona, Christofer
*Cale Airswift's brother. Captain of the Bloody Mary.

Oh, and I'll add this guy here at the end.

Mosley
*A half hyena, half aquatic little thing. He acts like a dog (or a hyena), but can breathe under water. He's good friends with Morph. ^^

Poem for Honors English

It's late, and I don't have much time. But, for sake of posting as often as I can...

Here's a poem I wrote for english class. (complete crap, right?)

An ocean wave of choice and fear,
it rose above his head
-To join a fight of wizened men
and walk where no men tread.

To stay at home, within the bounds
of safety and old peace,
wouldn't bring joy like as to quelling
wars of Worlds that cannot cease.

The voices in the background sounded,
dripping with their scorn.
Their petty words could make no mark-
to a higher cause was he sworn.

Courage, christened David, whose Goliath standing tall,
is held beside his fate, to steady him from the fall.

Fin.

Procrastination of the Worst sort

I'm in a very Sci-fi mood. I think that's where I'll start with this little rant.

Check it out: http://www.fanfiction.net/~azarathiandarkangel  This is my account on Fanfiction. Well, if anyone is reading this, and you read (what passes for) my writing, then there's a small chance you'll understand what I'm talking about here.

Just a disclaimer for you, there.

A sequel? I can't believe I started a sequel to Under the Stars (Titled: A Dying Nation) Not that I didn't want to. But, I should've worked out all the plot bugs (as I've come to call all those last minute changes and problems and things that don't fit). I have only bits and pieces of the plot so far. Of course, writing an outline completely drains me of what little creativity I had to begin with.

I'm wishing I had waited a bit longer, though. Because I now have somewhere around 10 (Such a small number, I know) fans  readers who've been waiting for almost two months for a second chapter that still in the making. I'm such a procrastinator. I think I should just write it, and then go back later. That way, I can know it's finished, it just needs (a lot of) revising.

I should be in bed. Everyone knows how I'm just gone in the mornings.

Well, here's to writing everyday in this thing (Yeah... right.)

A voice waiting to be heard,

J.T. Wynter

'Ello, old chaps.

At the advice of GryphonFledging on the YWS (Young Writers Society), I'm going to (try to) post in here once a day. It's purely just a writing blog. No personal stuff. When I go off on that, I start to exaggerate things for attention. (Lacking in social life, obviously) So, I'm not even sure if people can read this -that's the extent of my knowledge of the internet and blogs and all that stuff.

Current State: Completely impaired by my procrastination -with a side of writers block.

I'm still a novice -a neophyte at writing. I'm not going to lie to myself. So, that's why I pretty much felt stupid making this. But, I need a place to keep all my thoughts, because heaven knows I'll never take the time to write it down. (Pens are for losers, That's a joke for all you people without a sense of humor.)

Here goes.

Fly high,

J.T. Wynter.

(Ha. I somehow thought I was cool enough for a pen name. Oh well.)
